The Purple Lady Fruited Sour Ale pays homage to a local legend in our neighboring city of Suffolk, VA. This ale goes through a delicate Kettle Souring process that involves the addition of a pure Lactobacillus culture accompanied by a heavy dose of Lactose sugar, producing the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. During fermentation, we added an absurd amount of Blackberry, Raspberry, and Boysenberry puree responsible for the beer’s deep purple color and delicious berry flavors and aromas. This beer is softly carbonated to enhance the incredible berry smoothness that truly lives up to its name.
